Jomblo or Not Jomlo - It Matters Not
I'm not trying to make a parody out of Shakespeare's famaous quotation from Hamlet. This is a serious matter, especially for you Jomlos. What are you gonna do on this coming Valentine's Day? Finding someone to take to a party? Anyone, just to show your friends that you're not a loser who cannot get a date for the special day? Come on, you're not that desoerate, are you? is it so important to celbrate Valentine's Day with someone, so that people will not think that you are some nobody's friend-weirdo from outer space?
Valentine's Day is always considered a special day for couples who are madly in love. From its history (you'll know it better after you read Valentine Oh! Valentine), Valentine's Day can be seen as the celebration of love. Love is not monoppolized by loverss doesn't make you a pathetic lack-of-love person, does it?
Giving into or tips on how to celebrate Valentine's Day with your crush is common. Writing a romantic story or romantic experience is so usual. What about giving different views about Valentine's Day to those who are alone? aha, that's something different. That's what we do in this edition.
Since we belive that Valentine's Day is for everyone, including the Joomlos, we focus our main topic on crushless Valentines. Check out what some teens say about being solo on Valentine's Day. The quote above, indeed, is only one of the many high praises addressed to this big and beautiful lady, Aretha Franklin. When she was a litle girl, Aretha of ten sang with her sisters, Carolyn and Erma, at the Detroit chruch where her father, Reverend C.L, Preached. She became a featured solo vocalist in her church choir when she was 12 and made her first recording as a gospel artist two years after. John Hammond, the famaus talent scout, was one of the people who brought Aretha to popularity.
Many hits by Aretha, especially those made in the early '70s, were huge successes, for example, "Spanish Harlem, Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water, ""Day Dreaming, "etc. She was even more triumphant after producing the admirable albums Live at Fillmore West and Amazing Grace.
With her song claiming the first place in R'nB lists twenty times and the Grammy Award that she, the first artist ever, won every year between 1960 and 1975, it was no wonder that Aretha was crowned "The Queen of Soul" in th 60's, a litle that she till proudly wears now. She was the first woman in Rock and Roll hall of fame. She got lifetime award in 1995. She is the inspiration for Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Mya. She is the Queen of blues. Bob Marley - No Reggae - No Peace

Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945, in a small village called Nine Miles, in Jamaica. His father was a white British Naval officer named Naval Marley, hist mother's name was Cadelia. Bob launched his first record at the age of 16 in Kingston called the Wailers launching "Simmer Down", which became an instant hit in Jamaica. In 1972, intenational recognition came after the album Catch a Fire was released.
Later, due to some internal problems, the original members left the Wailers leaving only Bob Marley. Bob Marley went on with a new band line up and released Natty Dread, which was a major success. Bob Marley's fans at time includes Beatles George and Ringo, Bob Dylan and Jack Nicholson.
Bob Marley received a United Nations Peace Medali in New York after his concert on April 22, 1978. The concert witnessed two warring leaders in Jamaica shaking hands, an incredible event at the time. Being close related to politics in Jamaica made Bob Marley an assassination target. But he survived the attempt and went his conceret with his hands on slings.
Hist last concert was on September 23, 1980 in Pittsburgh when he was already diagnosed of having brain and lung cancer. Bob died on May 11, 1981 in Miami and was buried in his birthplace, Nine Miles, in Jamaica. Today, reggae is considered the music of peace, friendship and happiness due to its slow and happy beat.

Nirvana

Nirvana started with the meeting of Kurt Cobain (Guitar / Vocal ) and Christ Novoselic (born Krist Novoselic) (bass) in Aberdeen (Near seattle) in 1985. Then both of them formed a band called the Stiff Woodies, with Cobain on the drums, Novoselic on the bass, and a rotating cast of guitarists and vocalist. After they changed their personnel and name several times, finally in 1987, Dave Grohl joined them as the drummer, and the band was called Nirvanna.
At the end of 1991, Nevermind immediately became a top-charting album, quickly selling 50000 copies. What helped the record become a success was "Smells Like Teen Spirit", a blistering four chord song that was accompanied by a video that shot into MTV rotation. By the begining of 1992, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" had climbed onto the American top ten and Nevermind beat Michael Jackson's dangerous off the top of the album charts. By February, the album had been certified triple platinum.
Virvana's success didn't only surprise the music industry but also its own personnel. And they were mentally not ready to accept it. They started to act weirdly on the stage. Novoselic threw his bass into the air, Cobain destroyed the musical instrument and Novoselic and grohl shared a kiss at the end. Becaous of that, some people started to question the band's stability.
Cobain married Courtney Love in Februaru 1992. Shortly after the marriage there were rumors that the couple were heavy heroin users. Since Cobain was going through such personal problems, Nirvana was unable to record a follow-up to nevermind until the spring of 1993. Then in that season, they recorded their third album in Utero
